I worked with Marilyn Fletcher to help promote my organization, the Soccer Corps. When deciding on a PR consultant, the most important thing for me was that my partner understand the true business goals behind the overall PR strategy. Marilyn made it her business to understand leveraging PR as a means of customer acquisition and that was really what sealed it for me. Furthermore, I believe that you will not find someone who works with a greater tenacity then Marilyn. You can easily see how her experience as a booking host in a competitive environment translates into her work as a PR consultant. Finally, in difficult times such as these, Marilyn was able to make limited resources go a long way. In looser times, I have seen PR consultants do a lot less with a lot more.

I, along with my husband, Arne Hedberg, and a family friend, Laurie Carey, decided early this year to co-chair the "First Annual Mitch Hedberg Memorial Charity Golf Tournament." The Golf Tournament was designed as a tribute to our son, Mitch Hedberg, who died from an accidental drug overdose on March 29, 2005 at the age of 37. Mitch was an up and coming stand-up comedian who, unfortunately, became the victim of drug addiction. His death was devastating to us and to all of his family, his friends and his fans. We knew that we had in our hands an opportunity to help prevent this type of tragedy from occurring to another person or persons. We selected Minnesota Teen (and Adult) Challenge as the beneficiary of proceeds realized from the tournament.

Marilyn came to our rescue and offered to contact all of the local media outlets in our area to help promote the tournament. We had radio, television, and newspaper coverage that we never dreamed possible. Marilyn dedicated hours and hours to our project. The event’s over the top success was due in a large part to the dedication of this amazing lady. She gives 100% to something that she believes in and she doesn’t stop until the job is done.
